What to tell me

The more of this you can give me up front, the faster you get a real number instead of a conversation about getting a number.

Which thing you want. A singing telegram delivered to somebody, a singer for an event or party, a sub or fill-in vocalist for a band that has lost theirs, or studio and remote vocals on a track you are producing. They are four quite different jobs and they price differently.

When and where. The date, the time, and the address or the venue. If the date is soft, say so, because I can often solve a scheduling problem that looks fixed.

Who it is for and what the occasion is. For telegrams this matters more than anything else, because the whole thing is built around the person receiving it. Tell me the joke, the history, the nickname, the thing their friends will not let them forget.

Songs, if you have them. Requests are welcome and I will learn something new. For bands, send me your set list and your keys and I will match them rather than asking anyone to transpose.

How long you need me, and whether it is just me. An hour of cocktail-hour singing, a telegram on a doorstep, and a four-hour party with a full band are three different jobs. If you already have a number in mind, say it and I will tell you straight away whether it works.

How it works after that

You get a full quote with everything in it, so there are no surprises attached to the invoice later. For telegrams I take payment at booking, which is standard for this kind of work and means nobody is chasing anybody afterwards. For events and session work we sort out terms to suit the job.

How to pay. Venmo is easiest: @amalthya. Put the date and the occasion in the note so I can match it to your booking.

Saturdays and Sundays during the day are tight until the Maryland Renaissance Festival wraps on 25 October, though I can often get out with enough notice, so ask rather than assuming the answer is no. After that I am open right through the holiday season, which books up in October, so earlier is better if you want December.
